Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree to the policies you must stop using Openmod services. We can modify this policy at any time. Any changes are effective immediately.
What information will we collect from you and how will we use it?
To register an account at Openmod we must collect some basic info including:
  • First and last names - Users on Openmod are identified by first and last name
  • Email address - You will use your email address to log in. We will also use this email address to contact you and send you Openmod notifications. You can opt out of notifications in the ‘Account Settings’ section of the settings page. Your email address will never be shared.
  • A password - This password has to be at least 6 characters. Do not share this password with anyone. We will never ask you for your password. You can change your password in the ‘Account Settings’ section of the settings page.
  • Gender - Your gender will be shown in the ‘Bio’ section of your profile.
  • Birth Date - You must be 13 to register for and use Openmod’s services or network. Your age will be shown in the ‘Bio’ section of your profile.
Openmod’s goal is to be an active online automotive community thriving on information that users have shared. To that end, we make it easy for you to share information about yourself and your cars. Here’s the information we collect and how we use it:
  • Personal Information - The basic info your provided during registration can be modified in the ‘Profile Settings’ section of the settings page. You can also add your location (city and state) in this section. The location your provide will be visible by any logged-in user viewing your profile page.
  • Car information and modifications - We want you to tell us all about your cars. The information you provide could be helpful to others like you. The information that you share about your car, including, but not limited to, year, make, model, basic info, and modifications, will be shared openly to all logged-in users. We will contact you before featuring your car on the homepage.
  • Talk/cartalk posts and replies - Your friends are allowed to post messages on your profile page and on your car pages. You and your friends can reply to these talk posts. All posts and replies are viewable by any logged-in user. Each post can be removed by the poster and the owner of the page that has been posted on.
  • Photos - Openmod allows you to upload and organize photos of you and your car. These photos are viewable by any logged-in user.
  • Website usage data - The Openmod services and network requires you to have cookies enabled. These cookies are pieces of information stored on your computer that allow Openmod to determine which account you are signed into and to track the use of the services and network. We also collect general information about your computer including operating system and browser. This information helps Openmod adapt to the machine you are using.
Who do we share your data with?
We do not share your data with any partners or third parties. Understandably, there are a few exceptions to this policy: we will share information to keep our services and users safe, and to comply with the law. This could occur if we reasonably believe that the circumstances require such actions or by court order.
